Don’t miss the raffle!

Last year’s item was a beautiful hand-painted and gilded bowl by Connecticut artisans Shaari Horowitz and Alistair Jones.

This beautiful piece, a 17-inch-diameter Onyx and Gold Bowl, featured a design of continuous light and dark green vines with ochre and burgundy buds painted on a background of black. The inner circle was patinated gilding. The wood is turned beech. It is valued at $600.

Horowitz-JonesShaari is guided by an old world color palette, with designs based on classical sources such as medieval manuscripts, ancient textiles, and the frescoes of Pompeii, She creates her pieces on the surfaces of carved and turned wooden bowls created by Alistair Jones.

Funds raised support the mission of the Waterford Foundation. We thank Ms. Horowitz and Mr. Jones for their generous donation.
