The Waterford National Historic Landmark is a treasured connection to America’s past. Plan your wedding in Waterford today and discover what makes this place so memorable.
In this one-of-a-kind village, 18th and 19th century homes and buildings are surrounded by acres of green farmland. The 1910 Old School and its beautiful new light-filled auditorium, with gracious atrium, stone terrace, and new warming kitchen; the lovely old Greek-revival John Wesley Church; and the Bond Street Meadow across the street are available for romantic country weddings.
The biggest, most versatile, and best equipped historic building in the village is the Waterford Old School with its new auditorium, kitchen, atrium and roofed stone terrace. The Old School auditorium will accommodate 150-200 guests. Across the street are two active churches: the Catoctin Presbyterian Church (540-882-3058) and Waterford Baptist Church (540-882-3044), which can be booked for wedding ceremonies directly.
The oldest part of the Old School is its historic 1910 classroom building. The first floor classrooms, foyer, and restrooms adjoin the new auditorium building. Both classrooms feature tall ceilings, large windows, polished wood floors, and early 20th century architectural details like real blackboards, iron radiators, and bead board paneling.
The roofed stone terrace and surrounding meadow can also be used for outdoor ceremonies and or receptions. All of the spaces may be combined for large events. The classroom is ideal for small receptions, rehearsal dinners or brunches, brides’ dressing room, or gathering room for the groom and his attendants.
The Old School can be rented for weddings and social events for $2,000 for a full day, plus $500 for the property manager fee. An additional $225 cleaning fee and $50 per hour parking attendant fee may be required.
