We’re so glad you found us! The Waterford Foundation preserves the National Historic Landmark of Waterford, Virginia and shares its stories through events, educational programs, and traditional craft workshops.

Whether you are visiting for the first time or planning a return trip, there are many ways to experience the history, craft, and community that make Waterford special. Explore some of the events, programs, and opportunities listed below to see what is happening in the village throughout the year.

The Waterford Craft School offers heritage craft workshops and summer camps that connect skilled instructors with students in the historic village of Waterford. Classes focus on traditional crafts such as fiber arts, woodworking, and other hands on skills that reflect the region’s craft heritage


The Historic Waterford Trail Run is an annual 5K and 10K race through the scenic streets, trails, farms, and vineyards of the Waterford National Historic Landmark, offering runners a unique way to experience the landscape and history of the village


The Waterford Fair is the Mid Atlantic’s quintessential fall festival, featuring demonstrating heritage and contemporary craft artisans, living historians, a juried art show, historic property tours, local food and drink, and entertainment for all ages. Held each October in Waterford, the event brings the village to life with craft, history, and community.


Visitors can explore the village through historic walking tours of the Waterford National Historic Landmark. Self guided and guided tours offer a chance to discover Waterford’s historic buildings, landscapes, and the stories that shaped this unique community.
